In the aftermath of the 2025 Super Bowl, which saw the Philadelphia Eagles triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs, tensions between fan loyalty and celebrity presence reached a boiling point. Taylor Swift, who attended the game in support of her boyfriend Travis Kelce, found herself on the receiving end of boos from some fans inside the Caesars Superdome. Despite the negative response, Swift’s handling of the situation has earned praise from an unlikely source: Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

Speaking this week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Reid praised Swift’s demeanor in the face of the backlash. He described her as a “good girl” who has handled the scrutiny with grace and poise. “She handles that whole thing the right way. That’s a tough deal. She does a great job of handling it,” Reid told Pro Football Talk.

Reid also extended his praise to Kelce, who has faced increased attention due to his high-profile relationship with Swift. “Kelce, I think, does a great job with handling it,” Reid added. “She’s part of the team and, like the other girlfriends and wives, they’re part of it. And that’s all part of the process.”

The boos directed at Swift came amid an overwhelmingly pro-Eagles crowd, with the Chiefs players themselves receiving similar treatment as they emerged from the tunnel before the game began. While Swift and Kelce have kept a low profile since the loss, their relationship continues to make waves in the media. Swift’s calm reaction to the boos is seen as a testament to her resilience, which has won her support from across the sports and entertainment worlds.

The Super Bowl, which marked the Chiefs’ failed bid for a third consecutive championship, also raised questions about Kelce’s future in the NFL. Despite finishing the season with a relatively modest 823 receiving yards, Kelce remains undecided about his retirement. Reid has advised his star tight end to take time away from football before making any decisions, encouraging him to “relax” and reflect on his future. Kelce himself has acknowledged that his thoughts on retirement fluctuate, but for now, his commitment to the game remains strong.

Swift, for her part, continues to support Kelce’s career. In a recent interview, Kelce shared that Swift is fully behind him, urging him to keep chasing his dreams. “She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” he said.

As Kelce contemplates his future in football, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach remains optimistic about his return. “How we left at the end of the season is that he was fired up. He has one more year under contract,” Veach said. “Still think he has that fire and desire to play and, as far as I’m concerned, there is no deadline. I think we left (it) as he’d be back, and we’re excited to get him back and get him going.”

With the offseason ahead, all eyes will be on Kelce’s decision—and whether Swift’s support will continue to be a source of strength as he navigates the uncertain waters of his NFL future.
