Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has high hopes for NFL legend Aaron Rodgers, predicting a bounce-back season for the quarterback in 2025. Crosby shared his optimism on his podcast, expressing that despite Rodgers’ recent struggles, Las Vegas could be the ideal landing spot for the 41-year-old to reclaim his former glory.
Rodgers, who suffered a frustrating Achilles injury in 2023, played some of the most challenging football of his storied career last season. With speculation swirling around his future, including talk of retirement, Crosby believes the doubters have it all wrong. “First year after an Achilles is one of the hardest things to do,” Crosby said, acknowledging the physical toll the injury took on Rodgers. “I think with all the doubt, all the negativity around Aaron Rodgers, ‘Oh, he needs to retire,’ things like that, he’s getting cut by the Jets, I think he’s going to come back and have a — I know he’s 42 or 41, but I think he’s going to have a big year this year, and I hope it’s in our town.”
Crosby’s confidence is rooted in his belief that Rodgers, now fully recovered and with a healthy offseason behind him, will return to form. Despite Rodgers’ age, Crosby predicts a strong comeback, saying, “I think this year, fully healthy, full offseason, my prediction is he’s going to have a great year.”
Rodgers’ 2023 season was undeniably disappointing, but Crosby remains hopeful that a revitalized Rodgers can lead a resurgence. The Raiders were previously in talks to acquire another veteran quarterback, Matthew Stafford from the Rams, but Crosby’s comments suggest they may now have their sights set on the future Hall of Famer. Should the Raiders look to bring Rodgers to the desert, Crosby would welcome the addition with open arms, confident that the quarterback’s best days are still ahead of him.
As the offseason heats up, all eyes will be on whether Rodgers can return to his elite form — and if that comeback will indeed happen in Las Vegas.
