If you were hoping to see ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show make a grand appearance in Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft, you might be in for a disappointment. On Monday, just after the conclusion of the NFL Combine, McAfee made an unexpected announcement: his Draft Spectacular LIVE show won’t be heading to Green Bay as anticipated. Instead, it will remain at its usual home in Indianapolis, specifically the ThunderDome, where McAfee has hosted countless memorable moments.

McAfee, who has a deep connection to Green Bay and its NFL franchise, had initially expressed excitement about the possibility of broadcasting his show from the draft in the Packers’ hometown. “I wanted to go to Green Bay, have a lot of ties to Green Bay. The person joining us might have a very massive tie in Green Bay,” McAfee said, hinting at a potential guest with close ties to the team. But despite his enthusiasm, McAfee revealed that it just wasn’t meant to be.

The main issue? McAfee wasn’t keen on the conditions and restrictions that would come with hosting his show in Green Bay. He elaborated on the situation during his Monday broadcast, noting that it wasn’t just logistical concerns that led to the decision, but also the “flexing power” and “disdain” he felt from certain parties involved. “I don’t want to play their games,” McAfee explained, choosing instead to stick with the familiar, no-nonsense environment of the ThunderDome.

For those unfamiliar, McAfee’s show has become a powerhouse of sports media, boasting over 2 million subscribers on YouTube and millions more views across various platforms. His entertaining and often irreverent approach to sports commentary has earned him a dedicated fan base, and his connections within the NFL, particularly with former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and ex-Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk, only add to the intrigue surrounding his decision.

McAfee’s 2024 NFL Draft show took place in Detroit, where he was joined by NFL legend Bill Belichick, but it seems Green Bay just wasn’t in the cards this time around. Whether the tension with local powers that be will dissipate in the future or if McAfee will continue to snub the draft’s host city remains to be seen.

For now, fans can expect The Pat McAfee Show to stay right where it’s most comfortable — in the ThunderDome, with its unique brand of humor, insight, and a whole lot of personality.
