The NFL Draft is heading to Green Bay this April, and fans are already gearing up for the event—not just for the picks, but for the music that will keep the crowd rocking between selections. And when Green Bay Press-Gazette asked readers to choose the ultimate band for the gig, the response was loud and clear: Boogie and the Yo-Yoz for the win!

With over 170 responses flooding in, the Fox Valley veterans took center stage, earning nearly half of the votes. Known for their ability to get crowds moving and grooving, this eight-piece band from Green Bay and the Fox Cities has a reputation for creating an unforgettable live experience. From Garth Brooks to Linkin Park, Boogie mixes it all, with founding members Eric Peters and Dave Lange still at the heart of the group since its formation in 1995.

Meg Ratelle, one of the enthusiastic voters, praised their energetic performances. “If you never thought Garth Brooks would sound great in a music set next to Linkin Park, you’ve never heard Boogie or seen them perform,” she said. Boogie’s ability to engage audiences with their diverse catalog, choreography, and crowd participation has earned them a loyal fanbase that extends beyond Green Bay.

Vicky Cozeck from Greenville further added, “They involve the crowd, and it’s fun to watch them play.” The band’s horn section, made up of band teachers who can play over 30 instruments, adds a unique flair to their performances. Lead singer Paige Lynette Baker’s professional vocals round out the experience, making it clear why Boogie and the Yo-Yoz are top contenders for the draft stage.

Coming in second was The Glam Band, a tribute group known for their high-energy ’80s rock hits, complete with extravagant wigs, wardrobe, and over-the-top performances. This band is a local favorite, having even played a private concert for country star Eric Church and shared the stage with former Packers quarterback Don Majkowski. Their fans, including Gary Olson, who travels over 200 miles to see them perform multiple times a year, were vocal in their support. “They are the best the state has to offer, bar none,” Olson raved.

Laura Cortez, now living in San Antonio, Texas, couldn’t agree more. “They are spunky, fashionable and know how to get the crowd going,” she said. “Everyone needs to experience men in leotards and shredded tank tops.” The Glam Band’s wild antics and retro charm make them an exciting option for the draft festivities.

Three iconic Green Bay bands—Johnny Wad, Annex, and Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns—rounded out the top five. There were also notable shout-outs to groups like Spicy Tie Band, Brass Differential, Conscious Pilot, Wet Possum, and Copper Box. One even suggested The Sugarbush Boys, a polka band, just to give the draft a truly Wisconsin flavor.

As Green Bay gears up for the NFL Draft in April, it’s clear that the local music scene is ready to bring its best to the stage. Whether it’s the crowd-pleasing Boogie and the Yo-Yoz, the flashy Glam Band, or one of the many other talented groups, one thing’s for sure: the draft is going to rock!
